2020+ BMW G80 M3 Spec-R Springs

Swift Springs is pleased to introduce the Swift Spec-R Springs for BMW G80 M3 — a performance lowering spring kit designed specifically for the unique dynamics of the G80 chassis and its factory adaptive damper system. Achieving a drop of –1.3″ front and –1.0″ rear, the Spec-R kit enhances handling precision without sacrificing ride quality. 

Note: this kit is exclusively for the M3 (G80) and is not compatible with the M4 platform. Model showcased is the CS edition.

Design Philosophy & Engineering Highlights Working with Factory Shock Characteristics

From day one, our goal was to partner with the stock adaptive shocks, not override them. We tuned the spring rates and geometry to align with the factory shock stroke, ensuring the dampers remain within their effective travel envelope across ride conditions. The front springs are rated at 5.6 kg/mm, and the rear at 13.5 kg/mm — a calibrated pairing to maintain balance and composure under acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Pushing OEM Performance Limits

The Spec-R line is explicitly developed to operate at the upper limits of the factory shock valving. In other words, the stock dampers are driven to their performance envelope before any aftermarket dampers would be considered — allowing users to extract maximum potential from the factory hardware.

Proprietary Materials & Comfort Engineering

Reflecting the core Swift Springs Advantage, the Spec-R Springs use our proprietary HS5.TW alloy and unique manufacturing methods. We minimize un-sprung mass using fewer coils, reduce the risk of coil bind, and preserve more usable stroke so the suspension can respond more dynamically. This approach supports the dual mission of increased performance and daily ride comfort — the same philosophy behind our Sport Springs lines.

Testing & Real-World Performance

We validated the G80 M3 Spec-R kit across both street and track environments, using factory tires and alignment settings. These tests confirmed that the springs deliver sharper turn-in, improved roll control, and more consistent mid-corner feedback—while still offering a ride quality acceptable for daily driving.
